In decimal we need to understand about decimal place value of a integer. Every integer has its place value according to the position of the number. The most crucial part in decimal number is decimal point. The point separates the integer part of the number from its fractional part is called decimal point. It differentiates the integer and decimal number with decimal point.

The number before decimal point is integer. If we move these integers it gets 10 times bigger than previous digit. The numbers after decimal point is decimal numbers and as right we move  is $\frac {1}{10}$ and its scaled-down 10 times every digit.

Step 1: Go through the problem and check whether the given number is decimal.

Step 2: Allot the place values. For a whole number place the position value from left in series of ones, tens, hundreds, thousands, ten thousands etc when you get a decimal point then right from the point allot the place values as tenths, hundredths, thousandths, ten thousandths, hundred thousandths and so on. The order will be from right to left after the point.
