Arranging the fractions from least to greatest or from greatest to least is known as Ordering Fractions. The order of arrangement may be in ascending order or may be in descending order. Here, in this calculator, we are arranging in ascending order and from least to greatest order.
This calculator calculates only those fractions which has common denominator and also order from least to greatest.

Step 1: Check if the denominator of all the fractions are equal.

Step 2: Now, compare all the numerator of the fractions.

Step 3: Order all the numerator in ascending order.

The examples below shows ordering fractions from least to greatest.

Solved Examples

Question 1: Order the given fractions

$\frac{11}{5}, \frac{34}{5}, \frac{7}{5}, \frac{3}{5}$
Solution:
Step 1: Given numerators = 4, 2, 7, 3  with common denominator = 5

Step 2: Now, order the numerator:  3 < 7 < 11 < 34

Step 3: So, the ascending order for the given fraction is

$\frac{3}{5}, \frac{7}{5}, \frac{11}{5}, \frac{34}{5}$

Question 2: Order the given fractions

$\frac{1}{8}, \frac{-7}{8}, \frac{5}{8}, \frac{-3}{8}, \frac{7}{8}$
Solution:
Step 1: Given numerators = 1, -7, 5, -3, 9  with common denominator = 8

Step 2: Now, order the numerator:   -7 < -3 < 1 < 5 < 9

Step 3: So, the ascending order for the given fraction is

$\frac{-7}{8}, \frac{-3}{8}, \frac{1}{8}, \frac{5}{8}, \frac{9}{8}$
